Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward REVIEW

“Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward” (I’ll call it VLR from here on) is the sequel to “Zero Escape: Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors” (999). The first part of this review will not contain any spoilers for either game.

This has been a long time coming. In summer 2022, I played the first game in this trilogy. I went in blind and was absolutely blown away by the story and the fun puzzles. Last summer, I started the sequel. I put it down for a few months because of some hardware issues, but after getting it to work on my steam deck I finally finished it on my flight home to visit for winter break. I’m so happy I did, because this game took everything I loved about the first one and enhanced it further. The story was even more fascinating, the puzzles were even more involved, and the visual novel medium was utilized creatively.
